Surfacing & Look Dev Artist

A Texture & Lookdev Artist works closely with the Art Department to translate 2D conceptual artwork into 3D environments and backgrounds. Sherri’s work has contributed to the visual development of both feature VFX and animated films.

After studying Fine Art and Computer Science in university, Sherri moved to Toronto and graduated with honors from the Computer Animation program at Sheridan College. She then traveled to Vancouver, moving through roles from 3D generalist to Surfacing Supervisor on shows including Addams Family, Smurfs: The Lost Village, Angry Birds and Smallfoot.

For two years, Sherri was as a teacher mentor at the Vancouver Film School where she offered feedback to students entering the VFX or Animation industry, and encourages professional development by providing constructive artistic critique and software training. She also worked in a live broadcast environment, creating real-time graphics for Global News and CityTV.

Traditional Painting

Sherri studied visual arts at the University of Alberta and computer animation in Toronto, Ontario. After many years of doing digital painting on highly realistic 3D objects for feature film, Sherri’s oil paintings combine portrait techniques with graphic design principles and pop culture themes.

Represented by galleries in Toronto and Vancouver, her pop art has also been shown at the Gallery1988 and La Luz de Jesus in LA, and at Bottleneck Gallery in New York.
